Taipei, Taiwan----June 7, 2006----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader in digital home solutions, today announced industry-defining DVD player software, PowerDVD 7, is the first product of its class to support multiple surround sound formats from DTS, Inc.
While previous versions supported the playback of 5.1-channel DTS audio, PowerDVD 7 supports a broad range of DTS home theater audio formats, including DTS-ES™ Matrix and Discrete, DTS Neo:6™, DTS 96/24™ and DTS 5.1 Digital Surround™.
“DTS-ES offers the superb audio clarity of discrete 6.1-channel audio, while DTS Neo:6 minimizes audio artifacts to deliver quality surround sound from stereo material,” said Brian Towne, Senior Vice President, Consumer / Pro Division at DTS. “With PowerDVD 7 now providing support for these great audio formats, users have even more choices for enjoying DVD content on the PC.”
“CyberLink PowerDVD has always delivered unsurpassed DVD playback quality on the PC, and with audio being such an important part of the entertainment experience, it is essential that PowerDVD 7 supports the best technologies the industry has to offer,” said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. “CyberLink PowerDVD 7 delivers a previously unheard choice of audio formats: the beauty of 6.1-channel DTS-ES surround sound, high-definition DTS audio, and audio expansion technology DTS Neo:6.”
For Computex 2006, CyberLink is demonstrating PowerDVD 7 featuring DTS audio technologies at its Grand Hyatt suite, rooms 1024 and 1049.
