Taipei, Taiwan—June 8th, 2006----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader in digital home solutions, and a contributing member of the Blu-ray Disc Association, will begin bundling CyberLink BD Solution software with Panasonic’s Blu-ray Disc burner, the LF-MB121JD series, from June in Japan.
CyberLink’s applications enable the burning of Blu-ray Discs via data burning software Power2Go, packet-writing software InstantBurn, and archiving software PowerBackup. PowerDVD provides playback functionality and PowerProducer enables authoring.
Support for Blu-ray Discs lets users burn and store up to 50 GB of data on a single, double-layer Blu-ray Disc, providing ten times the capacity of standard DVDs.
“The Blu-ray Disc format is a powerful next-generation medium for storing huge volumes of video and audio content,” said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. “Through our continuing cooperation with Panasonic, CyberLink is providing an easy-to-use suite of burning applications that lets users make the most of the new Blu-ray Disc format.”
Panasonic’s Blu-ray Disc burner is available as both an internal and external drive for its OEM customers, and is intended for PC users wanting to upgrade the burning capabilities of their PCs. CyberLink’s software provides the essential tools for burning BD-R/RE, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and CD-R/RW discs.
