CyberLink Launches MediaStory to Bring Photo and Video Storytelling to 4th Gen Intel Core-based Windows 8 Touch Devices

New software offers an easy and quick way for social consumers to create rich, memorable stories from their photos and videos

Taipei, TaiwanOctober 31, 2013CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a provider of innovative media creativity solutions, today unveiled MediaStory: a touch-optimized application that turns photo and video collections into rich, polished video stories that can be saved or shared to Facebook and YouTube.

“We all have growing collections of photos and videos that we share with our friends and family, but not all of us have the time or the know-how to turn them into compelling stories.” said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. “MediaStory not only helps people to group and filter their photo and video collections in a meaningful way, but also to create professional-looking stories without the complexity and expense that comes with traditional editing tools.”

MediaStory uses metadata, geo-tags and information from Google and Outlook calendars to automatically arrange media transferred from cameras, phones, Facebook or storage devices into groups. Users can browse their photos and videos by event, date/time, who’s in them, location they were taken, or by self-assigned folder name. Unique filtering options make selecting which media to include in a video story quick and intuitive.

Given the fast-paced nature of online sharing, MediaStory has been optimized to run on the latest 4th Generation Intel® Core™ processor technology, providing ideal video production speeds. Users are able to select from a range of professionally-designed templates to create, for example, a 2-minute Full HD (1080p) video story from an album of 24 photos in under a minute.

“People are capturing more video and photos than ever, but without an approachable way to share meaningful content and memories,” said Christos Georgiopoulos, vice president, Software and Services Group, general manager, Developer Relations Division, Intel Corporation, “Intel and CyberLink collaborated to create MediaStory, which helps enable faster and simpler video and photo editing so that instead of simply sharing the raw media, people can share stories that are memorable and rich.”

Product Availability
MediaStory will be available for purchase later this year but as a special worldwide promotion, the software will be provided free to customers who purchase an Intel Ultrabook™ or all-in-one PC powered by 4th gen Intel Core processors. Buyers will be given a code that can be used to download MediaStory from cyberlink.com/event/mediastory.

It is available in the following languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Portuguese and Korean.
