CyberLink Partners with JVC to Deliver Digital Home Entertainment Network Solution

Taipei, TaiwanJanuary 12, 2009—CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), innovative solutions provider for the connected media lifestyle, announced today its partnership with JVC to introduce digital home entertainment network solution. The solution bundles CyberLink Media Server 2 with JVC’s NX-BD3, the first Blu-ray theater system that supports DLNA and has already begun shipping in Europe.

CyberLink Media Server 2 turns a home PC into a network server for digital video, photo, and music content, which can be accessed and played seamlessly by media players—such as JVC NX-BD3 or CyberLink SoftDMA—that are connected across a DLNA/UPnP network. Certified for the DLNA 1.5 logo, Media Server 2 supports file transcoding, features admission controls, and includes quality of service (QoS) technology for optimizing playback quality.

“We are happy to partner with JVC to bring seamless digital home entertainment experience to European consumers,” said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. “CyberLink will continue to work with industry leaders to shape the digital home ecosystem and strive towards our vision, the connected media lifestyle.”

Hiroshi Nishiumi, General Manager of Engineering Department and Audio-Video Systems Division of JVC, also noted, "JVC is very pleased to partner with CyberLink to begin the shipping of NX-BD3 as the first dedicated Blu-ray theater system in the world that comes with DLNA compatibility.
