Enhances Media Center Edition and PowerCinema with DVD burning capabilities
Taipei, Taiwan----September 16, 2005----CyberLink
Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader and pioneer in providing integrated solutions
for the Digital Home, announced today that CyberLink MakeDVD 2 enhances Microsoft
Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) and CyberLink PowerCinema by allowing
the burning of video, photo and music DVDs via remote control.
CyberLink MakeDVD complements the TV recording capabilities
of MCE and PowerCinema by providing a means for users to burn their recorded
programs from PC to disc.
The MakeDVD interface includes large icons and supports MCE-like
navigation, with features like the Virtual Keyboard for naming discs via remote
control. Meanwhile, Smart Fit technology simplifies the burning process by
automatically fitting the best video quality to a DVD's available disc space.
"CyberLink MakeDVD 2 offers a cool alternative to sitting
in front of the computer burning discs," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of
CyberLink. "With the PC migrating to the living room, this remote-controlled
software lets users sit back and enjoy the whole creative process in the company
of friends."
Through simple click-and-burn operation, users can author a
DVD of their home videos, create a photo slideshow that they can burn to disc,
or turn MP3 files into an Audio CD.
Support for a broad range of media file formats includes DivX, MPEG, AVI, DAT, WMV, ASF, DVR-MS, PNG, JPG, BMP, MP3, WAV, and WMA. MakeDVD enables burning to CD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW discs. Discs can be created to support PAL and NTSC video systems with video featuring Dolby Digital or LPCM audio.
