CyberLink PowerDVD supports the import of subtitles that are in an external file for the playback of Blu-ray Discs*, movie files, TV shows, and pinned YouTube* videos. CyberLink PowerDVD can also display subtitles that are embedded in MKV video files.

CyberLink PowerDVD supports the following subtitle formats:
•External (text): SubRip (.SRT), PowerDivX (.PSB), MicroDVD (.SUB), SubViewer (.SUB), SubStation Alpha (.SSA, .ASS), SAMI (*.SMI)
•External (image): VobSub (.sub+.idx)
•Embedded: MKV: SSA, ASS, SRT, PGS (Compressed PGS, Uncompressed PGS), VobSub; MP4: VobSub, Embedded-Timed Text (MPEG4 PART-17)
