Video discs are physical optical media (VCDs, DVDs, Blu-ray Discs) that require an optical disc drive to be played back. Video disc folders are an exact digital copy an optical disc (in a folder), while an ISO file is a digital image of an optical disc that take up less space than a disc folder. Standalone video files are digital media files that come in a variety for formats, with the most popular being .MP4, .MKV, .AVI, etc.

To play a video disc or video disc folder, go to the Media Library > Movies > Discs tab in PowerDVD. ISO files are most often played in the Media Library > Movies > Library or Media Library > TV Shows tabs.

Note: you may be asked to install an added driver to enable ISO image file playback in PowerDVD. This driver is required if you want to play back ISO files in PowerDVD.

Standalone video files can be found in the Movies, TV Shows, and Videos tabs in the media library.
